Summer Camp Curriculum Schedule

1 hour- Core Concept Math Instruction






1 hour- Problem Solving and Algebraic Concepts





15 minutes- Snack and Game Break


 


45 minutes- Chess Instruction and Fun Competition
Students will be introduced to new math concepts in Fractions, Decimals, Measurement, Geometry, and Probability in small groups with engaging teacher instruction.
Students will reinforce their new-found knowledge with practice activities and small group math games.

Students will be introduced to a variety of problem solving strategies and will learn which strategies to implement to solve challenging word problems. 

Students will work with appropriate skill-level Pre-Algebra programs to introduce and reinforce algebraic concepts.

Students will be provided snack and will explore critical thinking and logic games in partners and teams.


Students will learn to play the thought-provoking game of Chess and will challenge their classmates to matches.

Pre-Assessment- All students will take a math test on the first day of camp to determine their current skill level.  
 
Core Mathematics Concepts- Push yourself to the next level of mastery in Fractions, Decimals, Data Analysis, Probability, Measurement, and Geometry

Real-world Problem Solving- Rich, advanced-level word problems that students are likely to encounter in their everyday lives

Algebraic Concepts- Learn how to use the most powerful problem-solving tool ever invented!

Logic and Critical Thinking Activities- Numerical Games, Logic Puzzles, and Chess!
